For years, "link in bio" was Instagram's most repeated sentence. Now Meta is selling the fix. Its Meta One Advanced plan lets you add clickable links to post captions and Reels, and in India it starts at ₹2,099 a month. That buys four links in posts and four in Reels each month. Before you pay, it is worth doing the sum most people skip: what is one click actually worth to you?
What you get, and for how much
Meta launched Meta One in mid-September. afaqs reported the India prices for the creator and business plans, all as "starts at" per month:
Essential: ₹639
Advanced: ₹2,099
Expert: ₹6,399
Max: ₹20,990
Links in organic posts and Reels start at Advanced. According to Engadget's launch coverage, Advanced allows four clickable URLs per month in captions and Reels, a feature Meta had tested earlier inside Meta Verified. Jon Loomer's breakdown spells out the caps per tier: 4 post links and 4 Reel links on Advanced, 8 and 8 on Expert, 12 and 12 on Max.
Advanced also includes scheduling Stories up to 30 days ahead, exportable analytics, deeper audience insights and team access without sharing passwords. Meta says prices and features can vary by account, so check what your own app shows.
The per-link maths
If you use all eight links, you pay about ₹262 per link. If you use three, it is ₹700 per link. That framing changes the question from "should I pay for links?" to "is each of my linked posts worth ₹262?"
Try it with your own numbers. Say you sell a product with ₹300 margin after costs. You need roughly seven extra sales a month from those links just to cover ₹2,099. If your linked posts would each bring a sale or two that would not have happened through your bio link, Advanced pays for itself. If they would not, you are paying for convenience.
Be strict about "extra". Many people who click a link in a caption would have tapped the bio link anyway. The question is how many you lose to the extra step, and you can measure that.
Who it is worth it for
Small shops whose posts each feature one product with its own page.
Creators with a few big moments a month: a course launch, a workshop, a ticketed event.
Accounts where Reels drive most discovery and the bio link is a long tap away for new viewers.
Who should skip it
Creators posting daily with no specific destination per post. Four links will not cover a daily rhythm anyway.
Accounts whose audience already moves through DMs, the bio link or Stories without much drop-off.
Anyone buying it mainly for "reach". The plan descriptions in the launch coverage do not say that linked posts get extra distribution.
Jon Loomer's verdict is blunt: "I just don't see anyone signing up for any of these tiers just for link sharing." I agree for most creators. The links are a nice extra if you want Advanced's scheduling and analytics anyway. As the main reason to pay, they are thin.
Test it before you pay
You can find out what a direct link would be worth with free tools and a month of patience:
Put a UTM-tagged link in your bio, a different tag for each campaign, so your website analytics shows exactly which posts sent visitors.
For four weeks, end each product post with a clear prompt to the bio link, and note clicks and sales per post.
Use the link sticker in Stories for the same products, and compare.
Work out your average revenue per bio click. If even a modest lift from direct links would beat ₹2,099, try Advanced for one month and compare like for like.
One month of data beats any opinion, including mine.
Tag links so you can tell them apart
Use one naming pattern and stick to it, or the data turns to mush. Something like this, with the medium telling you where the click came from:
?utm_source=instagram&utm_medium=bio_link&utm_campaign=diwali_gift_box
?utm_source=instagram&utm_medium=story_sticker&utm_campaign=diwali_gift_box
?utm_source=instagram&utm_medium=reel_link&utm_campaign=diwali_gift_box
If you later pay for Advanced, the third line is the one to compare against the first two.
If you do pay: spend your eight links well
Four post links and four Reel links a month is a budget, so plan it like one.
Decide at the start of the month which eight pieces get links. Launches, restocks and your best-selling product pages, not every post.
Send each link to a page that finishes the job: the exact product with its price, a sign-up form, a booking page. A link to your home page wastes a ₹262 click.
Check your Reel insights for how much of your reach comes from non-followers. If Reels mostly reach new people, they are where a direct link saves the most steps.
Keep the caption honest about what is behind the link. A mismatch costs you trust faster than it earns clicks.
The bigger shift to watch
Paying to put a link where your followers already look is a new kind of cost for organic posting. The launch coverage gives few specifics on what the jump from ₹2,099 to ₹6,399 buys a small account beyond higher link caps and more business-agent capacity. Expect more features to move behind plans like this. The defence is the same as always: keep your audience on channels you control, like an email list, so a pricing change is an annoyance and not a crisis.
So, worth it? For a shop with clear product posts and a measured click value, possibly. For most creators, run the free test first and let the numbers decide.
