If your Instagram, YouTube and Facebook feeds keep showing the same name, you are not imagining it. Many people are asking what is Meta Muse, and the simple answer is that it is a personal AI agent launched by Meta on 8 September 2026. Unlike a normal chatbot that only answers questions, Muse does tasks for you, like sending emails, booking travel and tickets, filling online forms and helping with shopping. It reached No. 1 on the US free iPhone chart on 18 September, even ahead of ChatGPT, and Mark Zuckerberg calls it the centerpiece of what Meta is building.
The big difference is how Muse works. It runs on its own cloud computer called Muse Secure VM, with a browser you can actually watch, so it keeps working even after you close the app and comes back only when it needs your approval. You can message it in the Muse app or on WhatsApp, and it can connect to email, calendar, payments, health apps and smart home devices, but only the ones you choose. Meta says it asks before sensitive steps like payments, and a system called Sentinel reviews what the agent tries to do. However, Meta also admits that mistakes are possible and that prompt injection is still unsolved, so it is wise to start with small tasks and read every approval prompt carefully.
Shopping is where this gets very interesting for brands and buyers. Muse can reach Shopify's catalog and has partners like Best Buy, Sephora, Walmart and Wayfair, so the way we discover products may change soon. When an AI compares products, clear specs and honest reviews will win, which is why every product page on the GrunX mobile accessories store is written as a helpful answer and not as a loud advertisement. For now, Muse is available only in the US and Canada, with no India launch date announced yet.
