Surya M. Shriwastav: The Indian Author Bridging Science, Literature and Public Life

From Physics to Fiction and Public Leadership, an Emerging Indian Voice Building a Multidisciplinary Career

Surya M. Shriwastav is an Indian author, novelist, Physics Lecturer and youth political leader from Uttar Pradesh whose career brings together three distinctive worlds: science, literature and public life.

Known particularly for his Hindi romance novel Aadha Introvert (Half Introvert), Shriwastav has developed a diverse literary portfolio spanning romance, science fiction, psychological fiction, climate fiction, crime and supernatural horror. Alongside his writing career, he is currently working as a Physics Lecturer and remains active in public and political life as the President of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) in Bhatpar Rani, Deoria, Uttar Pradesh.

His journey is unusual because it brings together professions that are rarely found within a single career: educator, scientist by academic training, novelist and public leader.

A Career Rooted in Science

Shriwastav's academic background is in the sciences. He holds a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Chemistry and a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Physics, completing his postgraduate education in 2016.

Today, he works as a Physics Lecturer, combining his academic training with teaching and education.

His scientific background has also influenced his creative thinking. While some of his fiction focuses on relationships and human emotions, his speculative works explore subjects such as technology, memory, environmental change, consciousness and the nature of reality.

The intersection between scientific reasoning and imaginative storytelling has become one of the distinctive elements of his creative identity.

The Story Behind Half Introvert

Shriwastav's literary identity became particularly associated with Aadha Introvert (Half Introvert), a Hindi romance and coming-of-age novel exploring youth, unrequited feelings, distance, memory and the emotions people often struggle to express.

The novel approaches romance through the psychology of silence and remembrance. Its central emotional idea is that some experiences continue to influence a person long after the circumstances surrounding them have changed.

The concluding installment of Half Introvert is scheduled for 25 December 2026.

Beyond Romance

Although Half Introvert represents an important part of Shriwastav's literary identity, his writing extends considerably beyond romance.

In The Memory Harvest, he explores a futuristic world where human memories become technologically accessible, raising questions about identity, consciousness, privacy and the meaning of being human.

His science-fiction work also includes The Compression Theory, a concept-driven exploration of reality, information and the possibility that the universe itself may have limitations on what it can preserve.

His broader catalogue moves across genres.

Pluviora: The Rain Rebellion explores climate and environmental consequences through speculative fiction.

The Broken Chain of Custody enters the world of crime and investigation.

A Perfect Crime examines trust, deception and the consequences of a meticulously planned crime.

His supernatural work includes Thrown Over The Threshold, a horror narrative inspired by real-life incidents.

Despite these different genres, a common element connects his work: an interest in human psychology and the consequences of extraordinary circumstances on ordinary people.

Literature and the Psychology of People

Whether writing about young love, artificial memory, climate change, crime or supernatural experiences, Shriwastav repeatedly returns to questions about human behaviour.

Why do people remain silent?

How does memory shape identity?

Can technology change what it means to be human?

How does trust survive deception?

These questions allow his fiction to move beyond conventional genre boundaries.

For Shriwastav, genre is often the framework—but human behaviour remains the subject.

A Role in Public Life

Shriwastav's professional identity extends beyond education and literature.

He has been active in political life since 2017 and is associated with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and its youth organisation, the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM).

He currently serves as BJYM President in Bhatpar Rani, Deoria, Uttar Pradesh, where he remains involved in social and political activities.

His experience in public life provides another perspective on society, communities and human behaviour—subjects that also appear throughout his writing.

The Independent Author

Shriwastav has developed his literary career through independent and digital publishing, making his books available through platforms including Amazon and Pothi.com and reaching readers beyond India.

His journey reflects the changing landscape of modern publishing, where authors can increasingly build their literary identities through digital platforms and connect directly with readers across geographical boundaries.

Rather than being defined by a single genre, Shriwastav is building a catalogue that allows him to move between romance, science fiction, climate fiction, crime, psychological narratives and horror.

More Than One Identity

Author.

Physics Lecturer.

Novelist.

Youth political leader.

These are different descriptions of the same career.

His academic life is grounded in science. His professional life includes education. His literary work is driven by imagination and human emotion. His public life places him within the social and political landscape of contemporary India.

Together, these experiences have shaped a distinctive multidisciplinary identity.

Looking Ahead

With new literary projects continuing to develop and the final installment of Half Introvert scheduled for December 2026, Shriwastav is moving toward a broader literary catalogue.

His ambition is to take stories rooted in Indian experiences and perspectives to readers beyond geographical and linguistic boundaries.

His journey represents a new generation of Indian creators who do not necessarily have to choose between disciplines.

For Surya M. Shriwastav, science can inspire imagination, teaching can deepen an understanding of people, public life can provide perspective, and literature can bring all of those experiences together.

His story is still being written.
